Jubilee – 20 Years of the Grand Lodge of Macedonia

On the occasion of three significant jubilees – the 20th anniversary of the consecration of the Grand Lodge of Macedonia, the 25th anniversary of the founding of “Skopje” Lodge, and 30 years of Freemasonry in Macedonia – the Grand Lodge of Macedonia is honored to share news of a brotherly recognition of exceptional significance.

Our Brother Paul R. Engleham, Grand Chancellor, on behalf of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE), sent a personal letter of congratulations and fraternal greetings to the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Macedonia, Marjan Gerasimov.

In his letter, the United Grand Lodge of England expressed its admiration and deep respect for the Grand Lodge of Macedonia, recognizing the successful organization of the jubilee events and the warm hospitality of the Macedonian brethren. This recognition from the world’s oldest and most respected Masonic obedience stands as an important symbol of international acknowledgment and the spiritual maturity of Macedonian Freemasonry.

The Grand Lodge of Macedonia had the distinct honor of hosting more than twenty delegations from various Grand Lodges across the world. The presence of numerous Grand Masters and Grand Officers from Europe, America, Africa, and Asia reaffirmed the international reputation and the fraternal connection of Macedonian Freemasonry.

As part of the celebration, an International Masonic Conference was held on the theme “Freemasonry in the 21st Century”, where brethren from many countries presented their papers. These works, dedicated to topics in Masonic philosophy, history, spirituality, and the modern world, inspired thoughtful discussion and highlighted the intellectual and moral mission of our fraternity.

A particularly impressive moment was the multimedia performance “Fiat Lux”, held at the Macedonian National Theatre. The event began with a documentary film — a story about brotherhood, dedication, and the vision of those who lit the first spark of Light in modern Macedonian Freemasonry. As part of the performance, a musical band performed rock compositions carrying symbolic Masonic messages, adding an inspiring artistic dimension to the evening. This was followed by a unique Masonic stage performance, presented by Brethren from Lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Macedonia. Through the symbolism of Light, knowledge, honor, and virtue, the Brethren conveyed the message that Freemasonry is above all, a path toward spiritual refinement and moral integrity.

The celebration concluded with a fraternal gathering and reception attended by hundreds of guests from around the world. With this event, the Grand Lodge of Macedonia once again reaffirmed its commitment to the values of Freemasonry — morality, knowledge, and brotherhood among men.

This weekend, Macedonia and its capital, Skopje, became the capital of Light – a symbolic temple where the spirit of fraternity and the eternal quest for Truth were celebrated. Macedonia stood as a center of united Masonic thought and spirit.
